Privacy Policy

Overview

Trota (“we”, “us”) is an app for finding people and activities nearby. We take your privacy seriously and do not sell your personal data. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Account information (email, name, profile details, photos)
• Location while you are using the app (to find people and activities nearby, and to follow a route)
• Activity data (matches, messages, pins, event tickets, reviews, calendar adds you choose)
• Verification documents (ID and selfie), stored privately and used only for identity review
• Sign-in data if you use Sign in with Apple or Google
• Ticket purchase records if you buy an event ticket (card details are handled by Stripe, not stored by Trota)
• Strava athlete name and activity posting only if you connect Strava

How we use your data

• To provide matching, chat, scheduling, map, tickets, and organization tools
• To maintain safety (reports, blocks, verification)
• To send account and product emails you opt into
• To improve the app

How we share data

• Hosting and database: Supabase
• Event ticket payments: Stripe (for real-world events posted by clubs and festivals)
• Sign-in: Apple or Google, if you choose those buttons
• Strava, only if you connect it
• We do not sell personal data. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect people from harm.

How long we keep it

We keep account data while your account is open. If you delete your account in Settings, we delete your profile, photos, verification documents, matches, messages, and events you posted. Some records (for example payment records Stripe is required to keep, or data we must retain for legal reasons) may remain for a limited time.

Age

Trota is intended for people 17 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17.

Security

We use HTTPS, access controls, and private storage for verification documents. No method of transmission is 100% secure. Meet in public for first meetups and use the in-app block and report tools if something feels off.

Your choices

You can delete your account in Settings in the app. That is an in-app delete — you do not need to email us. You can also email info@trota.app.
